More Norway

Nordkapp - this was taken around midnight! We didn't get to see the Midnight sun but at least the fog lifted off so we could see the globe statue!

Repvag, just south of Nordkapp - the view from our lodgings. The hotel might have been a one star one, but the view was a 10!

The small village of Repvag - the red houses in the front were where we stayed

Guess where I've been?

I am sure you won't have much trouble guessing where we spent our summer holidays.

A trip with my Mum

I finally took a trip with my Mum. Just the two of us. We just spent 3 days in Italy. This country really is amazing: endless beauty in every corner! Our first stop was Genova (Genoa), where we visited the old town with its remarkable buildings and the aquarium. It was a lovely, hot, almost summer day.

Our next stop was Portovenere and the Cinque Terre. Amazing scenery, gorgeous houses, good food and rain.... lots of rain. But the best part? Being there with my Mum.

An Italian mini vacation

We took a long weekend to visit Rome and Pompei. It was a long bus drive but it was worth the neck and back pain, which I felt for days. I can honestly say that I fell in love with Rome, which has so much to offer, my favorite part being the ancient Rome architecture or what's left of it.

Visting Pompei was a dream come true. It is like traveling back in time where you can almost capture the essence of life as it was in 79 AD when it was buried under the ashes of Vesuvius.

The town was very colorful

The Vesuvius in the background... still looking menacing...

And on top of Vesuvius we went. There's a steep path to the crater with a magnificent view over the Neaples bay. Vesuvius is the only active volcano on the European continent - thankfuly, dormant.
