I have a passion for writing letters. You know, the old way, where you put pen to paper, put everything in an envelope, choose some new stamps and drive to the post office to mail it. Because putting in the mailbox down the street just doesn't feel right. I always get some help from the kitties. Some do the spell checking, others just keep them from flying off the desk. You don't believe me? I have proof!
On the first day of the year our town has fireworks. Because we like to be different, I guess :) We watched them from my parents' balcony.
And around New Year's Day my daffodils bloom. They are gorgeous, they smell really nice and all my neighbors are a bit jealous :)

Pretty fireworks and daffodils! It will be many months before we see daffs blooming here.
I don't write so many letters now, but I used to write almost daily. I had all kinds of penpals all over the world. I miss that, in the age of email. It was nice to get something in the mailbox that wasn't a bill!
