" In a barren pen, Mali spends her days pacing the same
concrete area over and over again. Transferred from Sri Lanka to the
Manila Zoo when she was just a baby, Mali has lived a life of
deprivation since 1977. In the wild, Mali would spend her days in the
company of her herd—which she'd never leave—foraging, bathing and
playing in rivers, and roaming vast territories. Now Mali has the chance
to live the life that she can currently only dream of."
There are many people who are trying to get Mali transferred to the elephant paradise that BLES is. We can all help by speaking up and signing a petition in her name - we are all she has. Check out the web page dedicated to her rescue: http://www.freemali.com/

How horrible, it would be like us having to live in our little bathroom all our lives.
That is just heartbreaking. We wil visit the Mali's page.
Heartbreaking ~ I will go there and sign.
Poor Mali. I have signed the petition. The Toonto zoo has recently moved all its elephant to a sanctuary in California,USA, to get them into a warmer and more their surrounding like climate. It was done with the help of Bob Barker and Canadian Rob Laidlaw!
While visiting the Elephant Stay in Thailand, pianist Paul Bartonl had the chance to perform a duet with Peter the elephant. The two performed some 12 bar blues together, and Peter can even be seen shaking his head along to the music. See it here for yourself!
