At
the beginning of June I was asked to
take in Lia for just one night after she's been neutered. She was found
at a recreational ground, pregnant, where she was following everyone
that she encountered and meowing - she just wanted to be picked up. She
is around 1 year old. The minute I met her I realized she was the
cuddliest cat ever! I was
supposed to take her to the shelter the next day, but she developed
eye problems: while she was under anesthesia they obviously didn't put
enough protective gel
on her eyes and they dried out:( I
took her to the vet that performed the surgery but she only said that
her immune system must have been affected by the surgery and
she gave her some eye drops for a few days. Lia kept scratching at her
eyes
continuously so I decided to get another opinion and I took her to
another vet the very next day. He gave her some anesthetic to check our
her eyes
properly and discovered the problem - ulcers were forming on both eyes.
She needed regular eye drops every
3-4 hours: the tears, antibiotics and an antibiotic cream for
the night. She also had to wear the cone but did remarkably well with
it. From the way it looks now she will probably need eye drops for the
rest of her life: the scars on her eyes are still visible but the eyes
seem healed. She occasional still scratches at her right eye but she is
now doing wonderfully. She loves to be around people, loves to be picked
up and she adores to be cuddled. She likes to play with the little ones
but is not particularly fond of their Mum, which is just the gentlest
cat ever.

Oh she is a beautiful girl. As she is so cuddly, and as she has always had it done, the eye drops/cream are part of her routine and should never be a bother for adoptive parents.

she is so beautiful! i'm sorry about her eyes! i do hope she will fully recover and will not need eye drops forever, but so glad she landed in your care.
I really think you missed your calling girl ~ you should be a professional "cat photographer" ! Beautiful photos of a beautiful girl! :))))) (love the cone shot)
